I havn't written in this thing for over a month! My laptop got taken away so I can't just do a free for all on the computer :( But....
I WAS CUT FROM HAIRSPRAY.
No really. I'm not lieing (spelling) Pretty much, after I auditioned for Just So, I went to the drama teacher and told her. After rehearsal, her and the music director (for an HOUR!) antagonized me! I've never really been bullied, but man..that was a case of bullying. They pretty much wanted me to quit Just So. I ran out crying like a baby. Then Dad stepped in and told her that I'm not quitting, which was the plan. So, she eventually accepted it and things were going fine for a while. Then one day, she pulls me aside and tells me that she is going to have to cut me because 1) the vocal director was having a fit 2) she decided she was going to take a trip to Hawaii so she was planning on making some weekend rehearsals that "might" conflict with Just So.
So, alas, I was cut. I've never been cut from a show. Not a great feeling. It's pretty funny though. Just So, btw, is AMAZING. The cast is so perfect and the story is so awesome...and we're done with everything! We've learned all the songs, blocking, and dancing! Now we are just running it until we open :)
As mad as I was about Hairspray, I'm in a way glad it happened. The thing with the shows at EC is that they're great, but THEY ARE SO TIME CONSUMING. Your life has to surround around the show and department. Exhausting. And since I wasn't in Hairspray, I had all this freedom! I could actually go home after school for once! Ended up actually joining the Academic League. Sounds nerdy, but it's really fun and helps me feel smarter then everyone seems to think I am (sorry I've been "misleading") My life just feels so....balanced. Bummer though about the Matron. Total anal grandmother who supposibly tap dances..tap...did I mention I'm taking Advanced Tap?? :D
